LPG
The LPG market continues to grow and evolve. At ETG, we continue to grow our geographic reach and market share and we have established ourselves as one of the largest physical LPG traders in the world.
The US is consolidating its position as the world’s biggest LPG exporter and ETG remains a major player with our shareholding in the Buckeye Terminal Hub at Corpus Christi, Texas and a number of long term export agreements from the US Gulf Coast.
Our global trading team links major production areas in the US , Middle East and Europe with demand from Asia, Africa, Europe/Mediterranean, Latin America and the Caribbean. We maintain a strong, diverse and flexible logistical system which supports our trading activities and allows us to respond quickly to changes in the market and to our clients’ requirements.
We deliver LPG to retailers and distributors as well as delivering to the end consumer for cooking and heating purposes via our partnerships with our industrial investment, Puma Energy, storing, bottling and distributing cylinders to the end users. We also supply industrial clients and chemical consumers, tailoring cargo sizes and specifications to meet the satisfaction of every type of consumer.
We work closely with dedicated LPG chartering specialists and oversee a wide range of tonnage – everything from small pressurised or semi-refrigerated tankers to Panamax Gas Carriers and Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs).
CRUDE
In the crude oil market, we use our global presence, market knowledge and logistics capabilities to balance supply and demand, optimise supply chains and service the needs of our customers around the world. Globally, we store and transport over 1.7 million barrels of crude daily.
ETG crude team has strong technical capabilities. These, combined with our deep understanding of physical flows, allow us to respond rapidly to changing market dynamics and non-standard crude oil opportunities.
We source oil from a variety of counterparties including public production companies, oil majors and national oil companies (NOCs). We provide distribution solutions for producers, and assist refineries with tailored shipments and specialist financing.
Our substantial North American business includes a blending hubs. Our extensive US domestic lease activity in regions continues to expand.
We have established a leading position in the burgeoning US crude export business. Strong relationships with producers and refineries in Europe and beyond are helping us to place shipments even at times of over-supply.
Our thriving business in Africa encompasses both significant exports and imports. In Asia, we are an active participant in both sweet and sour grade trading and we continue to grow our assets in the region. In China, we have developed a strong presence, growing business with NOCs and private-sector refineries.
We control tankage at strategic locations in Europe and supplement this with short- and long-term leases. We have access to long-term supplies of tradable oil streams and excellent relationships with regional refiners.
FUEL OIL
Our fuel oil trading team combines global presence, market knowledge and efficient logistics to connect producers and end-users.
Our teams deploy interlocking skills. Origination teams on the ground develop relationships with power generators and bunker fuel traders. Traders monitor macro-economic and market-led patterns and trends. Analysts assess potential blending strategies.
We optimise flows and blends to reflect changing patterns of demand. Currently, 47 percent of global fuel oil supply is used in bunkers, 30 percent in power generation and the remainder for refinery feedstocks.
We focus on aligning our blends with specific pockets of demand. We serve the main fuel centres of Singapore, Dubai and Rotterdam. We also have long-term supply contracts to Caribbean countries and are West Africa’s biggest bunker fuel supplier. Regulatory changes are driving a general move towards low-sulphur grades. We are increasing the low-sulphur portion of our portfolio in line with global trends.
CONDENSATES
ETG is a leading international condensate trader. We trade in all parts of the world, bringing a wide variety of grades to market.
We use terminals in the Arab Gulf, the Baltic region and the Far East for blending, and building or breaking bulk.
We have offtake agreements with numerous oil and gas producers. We are developing new uses for condensates with a diverse customer base that includes refineries, splitters and petrochemical facilities.
The end of the 40-year ban on US crude oil exports has shifted the dynamics of the condensate market. We are meeting rising global demand through our access to Eagle Ford shale and our stake in the Buckeye Partners splitter at the Corpus Christi terminal hub in Texas.
LNG AND NATURAL GAS
ETG is the world’s leading independent trader in one of the fastest growing energy markets. The LNG team is based in Geneva, Houston and Singapore, and supported through 30 regional offices in key actual or potential, import and export countries across the globe. Recently we have also developed natural gas trading businesses in both Europe and the United States. Our LNG and natural gas teams work closely with the LPG, coal, and other energy desks to generate synergies whenever possible and to continually offer the best opportunities to our clients.
